3) Aberavon

Aberavon has been continually occupied since the erection of the Norman Castle not long after the Norman conquest in the 11th century. All that remains of the castle are the names Castle Street and Bailey Street. Aberavon also contains Aberavon Beach, a sandy beach somewhat blighted by industrial activity in the 20th century by the Port Talbot Steelworks, and the former BP Baglan Bay plant.
